Meade High School deserves more support and financial resources from our school district. For too long the school has suffered from a lack of financial resources. It's time to do something about it.

Meade has the highest teacher turnover rate in the entire school district. Help end teacher shortages and long-term substitute teachers at Meade High School. Help fight to secure the best teachers for Meade. Retention bonuses should be restored immediately.

We need to end transportation problems. The constant bus delays are unacceptable. Dr. Arlotto must fully implement the recommendations from the "Prismatic" contract to support Meade High School.

PETITION TO DR. ARLOTTO FOR MEADE HIGH SCHOOL Required

Dear Dr. Arlotto:

Please include the following support for Meade High School in your 2022/2023 budget.

Meade High School is unique among all Maryland schools in that it has a large number of military dependents and dis-advantaged students. To support the needs of students and overwhelmed guidance counselors, and to support the socio-economic needs of military dependents and dis-advantaged students, we ask that you include more support for social workers at Meade High and its two middle schools.

We ask that you dedicate resources to map out tutoring and mentoring programs for the entire Meade feeder to identify opportunity gaps. Meeting academic standards requires quality out-of-school time instruction that's keyed to everyday learning goals. Please restore all funding for activity buses for Meade High School.

Meade has the highest teacher turnover rate in the school district. Staffing shortages hurt our kids. Restore retention bonuses. Reverse this HORRIBLE decision. Retention bonuses at Meade help keep the best and brightest teachers for our children. Retention bonuses are a significant equity issue.

Fix long standing problems with transportation. It's criminal that Meade doesn't have activity buses to support student involvement and extracurricular activities.
